FBR Elpo at IPACK-IMA 2025 to revolutionise the Beverage Industry

Founded in 1963 in Parma - the birthplace of what would later become known as the "food valley" - FBR Elpo specialises in developing, producing, and marketing systems for processing tomatoes and fruit. Today, the company stands out as a leader in aseptic filling technology in both Italy and internationally and also as producer of the innovative ELPO cap, a widely recognised solution that is still used extensively in the market.

Following its acquisition of Logicon in 2022, the company has expanded its presence across the entire supply chain and now operates in robotics, automation, and end-of-line machinery - key areas for advancing development from an Industry 5.0 perspective.

Customisation, customer feedback, and an international presence are the key points discussed by sales director Ivor Fuschi, as he explored issues ranging from market prospects to expectations for the now upcoming IPACK-IMA exhibition.

How important is exhibiting at IPACK-IMA for you?

“In 2025, FBR ELPO and Logicon will be taking part in IPACK-IMA for the first time,” Mr Fuschi began.  “This decision was motivated by our recognition of the significant importance this fair has gained over time on the international stage. We are therefore expecting a large turnout, which will allow us to heighten awareness of our products not only in Italy but abroad too.”

What technology solutions and in particular innovations are you working on at this time?

“As regards FBR ELPO,” the sales director continued, “we are working to make our packaging machines and systems ever more high-performing by enhancing both production capacity and energy efficiency. This has allowed us to successfully expand our business into the food industry and beyond, into other sectors. Focussing specifically on Logicon, the application of robotics to packaging is advancing rapidly, incorporating sophisticated solutions designed to ensure excellent results in terms of time and resource savings. The integration of FBR ELPO and Logicon solutions enables us to provide turnkey lines that include end-of-line technologies, meeting the needs of customers looking for reliable partners that provide a complete service for the supply and installation of machines and systems.”

Moving on to sustainability and digitalisation, what are new products will you be showcasing at IPACK-IMA?

“IPCK-IMA offers FBR ELPO an opportunity to present the latest innovations in our range of aseptic fillers, renowned worldwide for their exceptional performance and reliability for filling pre-sterilised and non-sterilised bags and pouches in different sizes, from single-serving pouches to larger bags and sacks.” Mr Fuschi went on to say that “Again, with Logicon, we will be focussing on end-of-line machines, such as case-packing machines, drum filling and emptying machines, palletisers, and complete lines with and without robotic applications. In terms of applications, the coffee and food industries, along with all sectors requiring case packing, transportation, and palletising, are particularly prominent. Both companies are oriented towards the introduction of automation systems and self-management controls on their plants, which include - where possible - remote control and production parameter display with self-correction during operation.”

Industry trends and future: what way is the market heading?

“FBR ELPO and Logicon are evolving constantly, especially when it comes to packaging solutions; in this field, we are focusing increasingly on automation with a view to overseeing production, optimising personnel costs, and monitoring and tracking all critical production parameters". Drawing to an end, Mr Fuschi noted that “Significant attention is also dedicated to the service system, which includes remote problem-solving, as well as preventive and predictive maintenance. Overall, we embrace an all-inclusive approach, which we believe is the only way to guarantee success through continuous innovation and the ability to deliver bespoke solutions as we recognise that mass production has been falling short of the market's needs for some time now.”
