Marianna Faraldi

Marianna Faraldi is Chief Research Officer She graduated in Pharmaceutical Technology from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Milan in 2000, specialising in Environmental Toxicology. In Tecnoalimenti S.C.p.A. since February 2001.

In recent years, she has worked as a senior researcher on topics such as the valorisation of agro-food waste, the promotion of sustainable production of renewable energy, the development of new compostable and biodegradable biopolymers, and the circular economy.

 



Since 2016, it has been involved in four funded European projects dealing with polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), a class of microbially synthesised polyesters with different structures, renewability, biodegradability and wide application perspectives particularly in food packaging.

Alessandra Mangiarotti

Alessandra Mangiarotti is ESG Specialist for Mondelēz International in Italy.

With a background in corporate reputation and strategic communications, he gained strong ESG experience during his career in consulting.

 



Today, within the Corporate Affairs team, he leads the implementation of the sustainability roadmap in Italy, collaborating with transversal teams to achieve the Group's objectives. He holds a double honours degree in Economics and Strategic Marketing from EM Strasbourg Business School and the University of Pavia.

Irene Akpeokhai

Global Packaging & Food Systems Transformation Leader with a PhD. In Chemical Engineering and 16+ years of experience across Europe and Africa in FMCG and food sectors. A recognized ESG and sustainability expert, she leads packaging transformation at GB Foods, driving innovation that aligns with circular economy goals and fuels business growth.

 



Her current focus is on reshaping the European packaging portfolio through purpose-led, sustainable design and scalable innovation. With a proven track record in cross-continental leadership, she brings a unique blend of strategic insight and technical expertise to deliver impactful, eco-conscious packaging solutions. IFST Fellow UK and advocate for women in STEM and circular economy education.

Silvia Arrigoni

Silvia Arrigoni, Sales Manager Food Contact & Product Area for pH Labs - TÜV SÜD Group, has a strong background in food safety, compliance and sustainability.

With an established track record in the ICT sector, she has achieved significant results in sales management, key customer, tendering, new market development and food laboratory coordination.

 

With a degree in Food Science and Technology from the Milan Polytechnic, Silvia Arrigoni is an expert in food contact and sustainability. She collaborates with industry associations and participates in technical committees on safety, packaging and environmental declarations.

Moderatore: Armando Gaorsci

An enquiry journalist with a background in economic history from the Faculty of Political Science at the Università Statale di Milano, he is particularly interested in the relational dynamics between the supplier industry of food and non-food consumer goods, all channels of modern distribution and catering, and the systems and services connected to them.

 






He has been dealing with editorial issues related to the use of the Internet since 1997. Since 2020, he has been editor-in-chief of Largo Consumo, the magazine that 45 years chronicles the transformation of mass markets, food and non-food.

Giuseppe De Filippi

Born in 1964 in Rome, has worked at L'Opinione and then at Tg5 since 1992. Since 1996 he has collaborated with Il Foglio, for which he also edits the daily newsletter “Di cosa parlare stasera a cena”. He founded and directs the current Class Cnbc. He has collaborated with Avvenire, Il Giornale, Milano Finanza.

 



He wrote with Stefano da Empoli the essay La banca dell'Euro. He participates in public meetings on economic and financial issues, including the latest editions of the Trento Festival of Economics organised by Sole 24 Ore. He hosted Tg5 in the 8 p.m. edition from 2007 to 1017, he is currently deputy director of Tg5.

Matthias Gasser

Businessman and Managing Director of Menz&Gasser S.p.A., Matthias Gasser, the third generation at the head of the company, has also been President of the jam sector in Unione Italiana Food since 2023. After participating in various international exchange programmes in the USA and Argentina, he graduated in 1997 with a degree in Economics and Commerce with a focus on languages. He joined the company after finishing his university studies, and after a few years of work experience, he took over the operational management of the company.

 




His focus on the customer becomes the basis for building the company of the future, with a focus on production diversification, research and development, and investment in technology. Thanks to this approach, the company grows significantly: from around 100 employees and 30 million in turnover to over 700 employees and almost 300 million in turnover in 2024. Its innate entrepreneurial spirit, international vision and focus on sustainability are the pillars of its strategy.
