Simone Giangrandi is Head of Research and Innovation at LUCENSE.
He holds a PhD in Physics and is a specialist in innovation and sustainable development, with a focus on the paper industry.
He deals with business consulting, research and innovation projects with research organisations and companies, and development of system projects.

She holds a Master's degree in the biological sciences.
The Laboratory of Applied Entomology advises companies in the food sector on the prevention and treatment of food and urban insect infestations.

Claudia Cottone is an expert in Machine Safety at TÜV Rheinland Italia.
With decades of experience in CE conformity assessment according to the Machinery Directive and Machinery Regulation, it also works in the field of functional safety, cybersecurity and the UWED Directive. It carries out inspections for global market access and offers training on international standards.
At TÜV Rheinland, he is national contact for the Technical Competence Centre for Machine Safety and global contact for functional safety and cybersecurity. He is part of the IECEE CTL ETF 16 group for cybersecurity.

He collaborates with research organisations and has participated in the drafting of industry regulations and guidelines.
In 2022, she joined the Italian Space Agency, where she is responsible for the Orbital and Suborbital Human Flight and Experimentation Sector.

Serena Perilli
Dr. Serena Perilli holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics. She gained experience of more than 10 years of research in molecular and developmental biology and 5 years in investment fundraising and business development.
In 2022 she has joined the Italian Space Agency, where she is Responsible for the Orbital and Suborbital Human Spaceflight activities.

Paolo Cergna
Graduated in Aerospace Engineering with a thesis on the design of a prototype Space Greenhouse to support long-duration missions, he has been working at ALTEC since 2008 as a Logistics Engineer and, since 2018, has been Head of the Integrated Logistics Engineering Unit.
He is primarily involved in Logistics Support within the framework of the ESA TLO (Training, Logistics and Operations) contract for Columbus operations, with a particular focus on defining maintenance plans, supporting its experiments, and managing the Bonus Food for ESA astronauts, including aspects related to packaging.

Davide Sanna
Davide Sanna, CEO and co-founder of Relicta, holds degrees in Chemistry with honors. He earned a PhD in Chemical Sciences focusing on plastics from renewable sources.
He was a post-doc research fellow and adjunct professor for 4 years at the University of Sassari. He is author of 14 peer-reviewed publications and 4 patents, one of which led to Relicta.

Micol Bellucci holds a PhD in Environmental Biotechnology. Since 2022, she is a technologist at the Italian Space Agency, where she manages projects on Bioregenerative Life Support Systems, Space Food, Space Microbiology, and Astrobiology.
She is ASI representative at the ISLSWG (International Space Life Sciences Working Group). She is co-author of 37 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed international journals and of about 45 presentations/posters to scientific congresses.

Francesca Chini
Francesca Chini, Head of Consulting, Product Safety Business Unit - Lifeanalytics, holds a degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Florence. In 2009, she began working in private laboratories as an analyst and technical assistant in the food analysis division, eventually becoming head of the department. Since 2009, she has been working as an expert in food contact materials and product safety, and she is currently Head of Consulting for the Product Safety area at Lifeanalytics.
Francesca Chini has an in-depth knowledge of the European and international food packaging legislative framework and reference regulatory standards, technologies and production processes of raw materials, semi-finished products and articles intended for food contact.

Monica Battistella
Monica Battistella is the Group Sustainability Manager at Taghleef Industries, a leading global manufacturer of flexible films for packaging, labeling and graphic arts. With over 20 years of experience, she has held key positions across various functions, including Sales and Product Management for Taghleef Industries Europe.
Active in cross-value chain associations like CEFLEX and Recyclass, Monica is a sustainability and circular economy advocate with deep insights into regulatory compliance and the strategic role of suppliers in addressing industry challenges.

Andrea Fausto Bertozzi
Born in Brussels, age 28, he graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Pisa with honours. During his academic career, he had the opportunity to be introduced to the world of polyolefins at INEOS O&P EUROPE, first in the industrial HDPE production plant in Rosignano Solvay then in Brussels in the INEOS research centre for metallocene hybrid catalysts for linear polyethylene.
After graduating with a master's degree and a very short academic research course, he started his technical-commercial career at SCL ITALIA S.p.A. (Larderello Group) and then moved into the masterbatches business at the beginning of 2024 as Account Manager Italy for ULTRABATCH, part of the IMPACT FORMULATORS GROUP.

Marta Schiraldi
Marta Schiraldi has been Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability Head of the Nestlé Group Italy and Malta since 2021. With more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, health, quality and food safety, she leads the company's sustainability journey towards ambitious goals such as 100% recyclable or reusable packaging, reduction of CO₂ emissions, zero net emissions by 2050 and circular economy.
A food technologist and science and technology enthusiast, she started out as a researcher in Nestlé's R&D centre in Lausanne, and then worked on sustainability in large food companies, including Nespresso Italiana, where she worked on capsule recyclability and environmental footprint reduction projects.

Federico Carosio
Federico Carosio took his PhD (2012) in Materials Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino with a thesis entitled: “Layer by Layer assembly of nanostructured coatings for flame retardancy and barrier properties”.
At present he is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Tecnology of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research group is focused on functional coatings deposited by water-based techniques on fabrics, films, foams and other substrates as well as the development of hybrid materials (composites and foams) encompassing bio-sourced fibers.

Sara Dalle Vacche
Sara Dalle Vacche is Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. After obtaining a Ph.D. in Industrial Chemical Processes from Università La Sapienza of Rome, Italy, she as process engineer in industry.
She then joined as researcher first EPFL, Switzerland and then Politecnico di Torino, where her research focuses on innovative polymeric materials.

Francesca Bosco
Francesca Bosco has a Master Degree in Biological Science and a Ph.D. in Biology and biotechnology of fungi. She is Associate Professor in “Principi di Ingegneria chimica” at the Department of Applied Science and Technology of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. She has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed papers.
Her main research interests concern the production of microorganisms and biomolecules of industrial interest, valorisation processes of wastes and industrial by-products, antimicrobial activity of essential oils, microbial contamination and food safety.

A.Frache is co-author of 155 peer-reviewed papers in Scientific Journals. His teaching activity is dedicated to lectures for Master degree in Materials Engineering on Polymeric Materials Technologies and Polymer degradation and recycling.
